Voice with Eryn Street
About Eryn Street
Eryn is a performer and teacher with experience in a wide range of singing styles, specialising in Musical Theatre. She has a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and attended the New Zealand Singing School in 2019. She is a member of the New Zealand Association of Teachers of Singing, and has trained and performed in both New Zealand and the UK.
She has spent the last five years teaching children from ages 5-15, and since moving home from London has been teaching teens and adults as well. Eryn understands the importance of telling the story as well as nailing the melody and technique, and loves finding truth and honesty in songs with her students. She believes everyone can sing (we all have the same instrument, after all!) and is passionate about helping people find confidence in their voice.
Eryn’s teaching style is student-led, and she focuses on assessing what students need in the moment to confidently overcome challenges. She has experience working with neurodiverse learners and finding ways to learn that work for her students. Eryn holds high standards for every student, and creates supportive learning environments in which her students are accepted and celebrated for their individuality and talents.
Eryn’s performance career has seen her playing roles such as Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins, Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act (Australasian premiere cast), Carrie in Carrie the Musical (New Zealand premiere cast), as well as originating several roles in workshops of Kiwi-written musicals, performing with Prep Your Rep LDN online during lockdowns and for the NHS, performing with Capital E, and touring with pantomimes. She has taken performance masterclasses with Kerry Ellis (Wicked), Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins), Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter films), Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones) and Hadley Fraser (Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary), among many other professionals.
