Acting for Adults

Whether you want to exercise the hidden performer in you or simply have a creative outlet this year, These adults classes are great for all levels of experience. These classes will build the actor’s muscle and confidence with fun games, collaborative play, improvisation and stage and screen scripts. We have two options for Adults Acting classes as detailed below.

The Actors’ Studio with Jo Rogers

Learn, through practice, the value of “just getting up and doing it”

Whether you want to be acting on screen, changing the world, developing confidence, or just having fun outside the usual 9-5, being involved in screen and theatre classes will give you the foundation to succeed.

In this class you’ll develop the ability to use your imagination to create and sustain a character’s inner world. We will work with Voice, Movement, Contemporary Text, Classical Text, and improvisation. Delving into scripts and rehearsal techniques enabling growth in confidence, alongside practical techniques for working with the camera enabling you to deliver compelling performances on screen. You’ll also develop skills in observation and active listening and compare the differences between performing on the stage and in front of the camera.

  • Sessions involve workshopping a variety of scenes from a range of texts, screen plays, stage plays also short form improvised scenes.
  • Time on screen to improve your confidence.
  • Time on screen to create an interesting and natural performance.
  • Time on screen to enhance your presence on camera.
  • Improvising, allowing the actor to explore, experiment and respond more authentically.
  • Practical skills in text analysis.
  • Movement, voice & acting strategies to improve performance confidence.

 

Acting Workshops with guest tutors

 

The Thursday acting workshops will be taught by industry professionals who are top in their field. These workshops will be dynamic blocks covering different aspects of the acting industry such as voice, movement, screen acting, stagecraft and improvisation.
