Bass or Guitar with Jacqui Nyman

Jacqui Nyman

Jacqui is a performing and teaching freelance musician based in Wellington. She began playing guitar at five years old, bass guitar at eleven, and studied jazz at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington.

She has been involved in a wide range of musical projects over the years and most recently has been working with Grayson Gilmour, Luke Buda (Phoenix Foundation), Riki Gooch, and Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Concords).

In 2022, she performed on an 18 date tour in the USA with Bret McKenzie’s live band.

She enjoys teaching music and often gives the student the lead for what to study based on their interests. No matter what level they are at, students can expect to improve their musical feel, technique, ear training skills, knowledge of the theory of music, and have a great time expanding the music accessible to them under their fingertips.
