Rātā Studios under the Alert Level 2

How Rātā Studios will operate under the NEW Alert Level 2?
We will be continuing with our programmes as usual, with a few extra safety measures put in place, following the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

The plan is to stagger our return to the Studios as follows:

Returning Thursday 9th Sept:
Drums with Steve Bremner; Theatre Sports and Improv with Susan and Rātā Teens Drama 102 with Tess.
NB: All of Jo’s Thursday Drama classes will be on ZOOM this week, including both Drama Studio (Year 3 and 4) classes.

Returning Saturday 11th Sept:
ALL Music courses and Professional-Level Teen acting.

Returning from Monday 13th Sept:
All Rātā courses will be onsite.

Contact tracing:
Participants ONLY will be allowed into the building. Parents will need to drop their children off at the steps and collect them from outside the building please.

All participants over the age of 12 must scan the QR Code clearly displayed at the Rātā Studios main entrance, OR manually record the time they entered the building in the notebook provided.

Attendance registers will be kept as usual.

Mask wearing:
It is strongly recommended that everyone aged 12 and over, wears a mask when outside and inside the buildings. Some activities such as playing wind instruments will require you to take off your mask whilst playing.

Physical Distancing:
WELLSO will be continuing to use the Hall, where there is plenty of space to distance appropriately and the Rātā Jazz band, Rata Community Choir and Singcognito may also use the Hall to allow for distance between musicians.

Please do not arrive any earlier than a couple of mins before your class or lesson so that we don’t have people congregating in corridors before sessions start.

We will be making sure that all activities taking place at Rātā maintain the recommended physical distancing.

As always, if you are feeling unwell, stay at home and if you don’t wish to attend during this time, please email me so we know not to expect you.

Thank–you to everyone for being so adaptable during the lockdown. We were able to run almost all of our courses and lessons on Zoom! I think that is incredible and speaks to the wonderful community of people that makes Rātā so special.

We can do this! We have done it before and will do it again.
Kia kaha NZ and take care of yourselves and everyone around you.

Kind regards
Jackie and all the Rātā team.
