Rātā School of Music is a vibrant, inclusive music school based in Wellington and open to everyone, from school-age beginners to passionate adult learners and late starters. Launched in 2016, we are redefining what a music school can be, with the best musicians and teachers available, known professionals in their fields, and a welcoming community for all who want to make music a meaningful part of their life.

From individual lessons run on Saturdays in our soundproofed rooms to our jazz band, vocal arts workshops and masterclasses, our Young Voices programme, and the ever-popular WELLSO (Wellington Late Starters Orchestra), we have created a space where musicians of all ages and stages can thrive.
