Showcase Your Acting Skills
In this course, you will create a professional showreel using original scenes designed to highlight your acting. Rather than using existing footage, you will work with custom Rātā Studios scripts written to showcase your range and strengths.
We prioritise quality at every stage. Scenes will be filmed with award‑winning emerging cinematographer Ebed Pohl, ensuring professional sound and visual standards. Poorly filmed footage can detract from a strong performance, so our focus is on producing work that supports and elevates your acting.
The purpose of a showreel is simple: to show how you act. It should demonstrate your ability to handle character nuance and a clear story arc. Each scene will be as cinematic as needed to support your performance – no more than that.
Showreel Details
- You will perform two 1–2 minute scenes with strong emotional stakes.
- Each scene will be performed with another actor to demonstrate how you relate and respond on screen – a core part of acting.
- Scenes will focus on character interaction and conflict, allowing for meaningful interplay between performers.
- The emphasis is on performance, not production detail – strong acting is found in small, truthful moments.
- Scripts are carefully selected to provide a simple, clear story arc with believable and engaging conflict.
- Your work will highlight subtlety, emotional depth, and your ability to bring nuance to the material.
