Unlock your performance potential in our “Stage and Screen for Teens” course at Rātā Studios. Designed for teens in Years 9-13, this course offers hands-on experience in both stage and screen acting. Learn from industry professionals in a supportive and creative environment.
We will use comprehensive drama games to help you work with your instinct and intuition. You’ll learn about accents, work on audition acting techniques, review screen work, and study the acting tips of top drama coaches. Discover the differences between stage and screen acting and get the opportunity to put both into practice. Speech and voice techniques will be part of our course, along with fun, confidence-building activities, and exercises to boost your imagination and expression.

NB: In Term 3, we have an exciting opportunity to focus on creating films and filmic vignettes. At the end of term, we can enter the finished products into a friendly film Competition with BOPAS – The Bay of Plenty Actors Studio. The work will be judged by Actress Miriama McDowell. The top films will be seen by casting directors in the film industry, making it a fantastic showcase of our acting talent! Please note that this only applies to the Thursday classes with Hannah Kelly.
