Fuel Your Creative Engine

Your artistic output depends on the quality of what you consume and the mental, physical, and emotional or creative energy you invest.

This Easter Weekend workshop is designed for actors who are committed fully to immersing themselves in the craft of acting for both screen and stage.

  • You will nurture authentic, dynamic performances through a flexible and inclusive approach exploring imagination and believability.
  • You will work on a variety of scenes, ensemble work, text, and improvisation where you will bring movement and language alive in a less overly crafted and more relaxed fashion.
  • You will respond to new material with intuitiveness, speed, and confidence, and you’ll come away knowing you’ve made strong creative choices. Your power sits in the tension of stillness and impulse.
We want to see actors who are natural, interesting, and connected. We use exercises that encourage spontaneity and responsiveness, actors who in the moment “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.”

Check back later for information about the 2027 programme.

Course Overview
Friday – Focus on Improvisation
Explore performance improvisation and unleash your creativity to bring stories to life. This will be a fun, action-packed day, so bring your water bottle. Actors can reconnect with themselves creatively, by using imagery, and creating imagery.

Saturday – Text can be fun – So let’s make it fun
Work on scenes from a range of texts. Use text to create movement, ensemble, and harness the imagination. This session incorporates sharing and workshopping the scenes you have prepared. A focused and studious approach.

Sunday – Acting for Screen
Develop skills in observation and active listening in front of the camera. Practice the art of remaining present in the moment during multiple takes.

Actors are encouraged to move beyond “playing a role” and instead embody living, breathing characters. Going beyond technique to presence, allowing the character to live.

This workshop will contain elements of Laban, so please bring or wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing each day.
