Empowering rangatahi Māori to tell their stories through film.
The E Tū Whānau Rangatahi Film Workshops are free filmmaking workshops for rangatahi Māori aged 12–24, designed to build skills, confidence and creative expression.
Held over 2–3 days, these youth filmmaking workshops give participants the opportunity to work alongside emerging Māori filmmakers to create original short films. Rangatahi develop practical skills in storytelling, filming and production while exploring stories grounded in identity, culture and community.
All films created are entered into the E Tū Whānau Rangatahi Film Challenge, providing a platform to share their work with wider audiences.
These workshops are suitable for all experience levels. Whether new to filmmaking or already passionate about film and storytelling, rangatahi are supported to learn, create and bring their ideas to life in a collaborative environment.
