Guitar or Ukulele lessons with Robin Cederman
Robin Cederman is a pianist, guitarist, songwriter and composer based in Wellington, New Zealand.
He started piano lessons at age six and completed his ATCL in performance piano in 2004, before studying Zoology, Psychology and Music at Otago University. He is a life-long guitarist, and has received guitar tuition from many of NZ’s great players including Paul Ubana Jones, Darren Watson and Tom Healy.
Teaching has been a central part of Robin’s life for more than a decade. He has taught hundreds of students in piano, guitar, ukulele, bass and drums ranging from absolute beginners through to semi-professionals. Favouring a holistic and fun approach, he incorporates elements such as aural training, improvisation and music appreciation into lessons along with more prescribed aspects such as technique, sight-reading and scales. Reflecting his love of education, he even continues to be a student himself, receiving singing lessons on a weekly basis.
Robin has been on multiple national tours of Aotearoa, along with extensive tours of Australia and Europe playing in bands such as French For Rabbits, Grawlixes, Tahu and the Takahes and The Prophet Hens. He has also been a session player for Chick’s Hotel recording studios, and worked as a guest musician for several professional improv comedy troupes (Play Shop, Improsaurus) across the country.
