Teen Stunt Performance Holiday Intensive

Unleash your inner action hero in this thrilling week-long Teen Stunt Performance Course! Under the guidance of experienced acting coach Jo Rogers and Top Stunt and Performance capture Artist Allan Henry   you’ll dive into the high-octane world of stunt performance.

Throughout the week, you’ll train like a pro, mastering essential stunt techniques for fight choreography while performing dystopian conflict scenes that will push your performance skills to the limit. Jo Rogers will help you develop and embody authentic characters in this exciting world. 

You’ll then get to choose your character’s costume and film your action-packed scene with the film Making students plus scenes in front of  a greenscreen to turn into your dystopian world.  This will give you a taste of what it’s like to work as a stunt performer on a film  set whilst seeing the final world brought to life on the screen.

On the Thursday afternoon we join the Filmmaking students on a private Wētā Workshop Experience tour on Park Road! There, an experienced Wētā Workshop crew member will take you on a guided journey through the practical effects crafted for The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Chronicles of Narnia, Avatar, and much more! This also includes a private screening of Wētā’s exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary.

About Jo Rogers

Working with students in screen acting, scriptwriting, filming, editing and making short films, she has been involved within local television and large musical productions, bringing a wealth of knowledge and work experience to her classes.

As lead Project Director and Artistic Manager on various events as well as tutoring and lecturing in Tertiary Education, Jo is able to think logistically and understand the programming and management needed in the success of large scale productions. This last year, Jo has worked writing and producing her first novel and feature film script.

Her philosophy is, whether you want to be a movie star, change the world, develop confidence, or just have fun, the opportunity to be involved in challenging theatre and screen workshops will give any student the foundation to succeed. Seeing many of her students score roles in local and international films, she’s worked to open new pathways and help shape the future of the industry.

About Allan Henry

Allan Henry is a multitalented actor, stuntman, motion capture performer and a self-proclaimed goofball dad.

He is best known for his role as The Bear, on Cocaine Bear directed by Elizabeth Banks, starring Keri Russell and Ray Liotta, Ru in Robyn Malcolm’s breakout hit series, After the Party, Our Flag Means Death S2, and Mean Mums

Allan is a sought-after stunt performer and actor with his work including The Hobbit Films, Mulan, Avatar and Mortal engines. 


He’s looking forward to working with teens to push them to their limits and help the create  dynamic combat scenes to feel empowered by.
