Classical Ensemble Programme

Running our exciting classical ensemble programme will be Brenton Veitch. Brenton is principal cellist with Orchestra Wellington (formally Vector Wellington Orchestra.) He is also a former member of The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and a casual player with the NZSO.

Brenton will be coaching our ensemble programme coaching small instrumental ensembles. These could be string quartets, piano quintets or other groupings depending on the interest. If you already play as part of an ensemble like a string quartet and want to come together for detailed coaching let us know when you sign up or email with any questions. Groups will be tailored according to experience and ability so please do give us as much information as you can when you sign up.

Chamber Music

The chamber music course will be include weekly tuition in the art of chamber music performance. This will include a look at chamber music playing through the many different ages of classical music. The musicians/students will be placed into appropriate groups depending on their age and level. Also there will be regular opportunities to perform during the year.

Every so often a special quest tutor will come and give the chamber groups an extra session.

Finally as part of of the course they will be given warm up exercises by Brenton Veitch similar to the ones he gives to the NZSO before rehearsals.
